Discover Sailing

“Discover Sailing” is the initiative from the RYA coming out of the sad death of Andrew (Bart) Simpson and the Bart’s Bash events.  “Discover Sailing” is advertised during the month of May each year to enable new entrants to the sport to get on the water.

The club extends this throughout the year by providing 2 hour taster sessions to new entrants.  These are provided on demand space permitting.

Testimonials

“Seeing the children learn to Sail at beautiful Clowbridge on the Ops n’ Tops course was brilliant. My teenage son had never sailed before and he now loves his new hobby for life! He’s ready for the RYA Level 2 Sailing Qualification and he wants to learn more. He made friends, gained so much confidence and a huge sense of achievement from Sailing – the team at RVSC are brilliant. As a Mum, I highly recommend taking your child to try it out – and I’ve even begun to take part myself!”
Becka S

“I learned to Windsurf at RVSC as a young boy and am still enjoying sailing at Clowbridge 35 years on. I enjoy the landscape – and if there’s going to be wind anywhere, it’s up at RVSC! My children are now learning to sail there too which is great to see.”

Wayne D

“I joined the youth Ops n’ Tops course, expecting Sailing to be very difficult and I was unsure at first. Over Summer, I soon began to love Sailing and am very happy to now be ready for the RYA Level 2 Assessment. I had a lot of fun with the other kids, the instructors are really helpful and I am now very confident on the water. I am planning to do more courses next year and maybe even look at Instructing when I am an adult.”
